Amazon SE for beginners - Sacred Sword - 04-29-2016

So first, you need to get on whatever account that has the item you want to refund/replace. Make sure your item is either sold by or fulfilled by Amazon so you can get an easy, quick refund/replacement.

Secondly, you want to make sure you have all the information ready that you may need, so things can be possibly even quicker. Addresses, names, creditcrd numbers, order numbers, etc. Saves me some time having it all out beforehand.

Thirdly, you want to finally get in chat with support. This is easy, you just click on help in the blue bar at the top. After that, you click on the options saying "Where's my stuff?" and click the blue link that says contact us if your item hasn't "arrived" in the past 36 hours. You want to select the item you are refunding/replacing, then you then want to select the options "Where's my stuff?" and "Tracker shows delivered but item hasn't arrived". After that you click the chat button, the one on the right. This is the easiest way. (Tip: Make sure you start off with smaller amounted items so there isn't as much suspicion/hassle. Higher priced items may take more time, or may need more steps completed that you don't want to get tied up in to.)

Fourthly(?), You want to talk to the rep. Be polite, formal, and nice. Remember, you must believe your item never arrived before convincing someone that it didn't. Lets say you are refunding your XBone, you would say:

"Hello I am contacting support today about my Xbox One item. The tracker on the website says it has been delivered and arrived, but the item has never actually arrived. I know this isn't Amazon's fault, and it could of been a simple mistake. I was wondering about what we could do about this."

When the rep introduces themselves, be nice and ask them how they are, and make sure to use their name for extra brownie points.

Answer all the rep's questions the best you can, here are some common ones and answers to them:

Rep: Did you check with neighbors and family if the package arrived?
You: Yes, I did and they denied seeing the package arrive.

(If some time passed between the contacting of support and the package delivery)
Rep: Why did you wait so long to contact us?
(possible answers)
You: I am very sorry for not contacting sooner, but a family emergency came up while the package was being delivered, and when I came back I forgot, but recently found an Amazon Order Confirmation in my E-Mail while checking Emails not too long ago, and realized my item never actually arrived. Again, I am sorry for waiting so long.

You: I had to go in on a sudden business trip for work, and only recently arrived back. I am sorry for not contacting sooner.

Fifthly(??), you want to be cooperative and nice while answering the rep's questions. After you answer them all, and they are willing to give a refund/replacement, pick the option you want. Now for the catch. Most of the time for refunds, they want to refund to the original payment method, which in most cases is a creditcrd. To get around this, you simply say:

Rep: Would you like a refund or a replacement?
You: I would like a refund.
Rep: OK, I will issue a full refund of >amount< to the original payment method.
You: Wait, is it possible to have the refund added to my Amazon GC balance? I am currently having troubles with my credcad and would be unable to access the money.
Rep: Sure! No problem(most of time)

I have never gotten an item replaced, but you just confirm the address you want to replace to and wait for that delicious box to arrive.

If you got the refund to your AGC, it could take up to about an hour for the refund to process and show up in your balance. For other payment methods, I am not too sure.

Well, there you have it, a guide for Amazon SE beginners. I hope you all found this guide useful, but remember; everyone has their own method, and this is mainly what I do. My method may be different than what you end up doing, but this should be a useful tool and guidelines for those newbies here to Amazon. I hope you all enjoyed this guide/tutorial whatever this is. I may soon add pictures and come out with a new guide for Amazon. Happy SEing!

^ This is important. Stick to your story and don't change it halfway.
