Cancer - Inori - 01-16-2016

Recently, 3 of my idols have passed away due to cancer, and my godfather has a month left, tops. On top of that, my grandfather died due to leukemia last year.
The reason I'm saying this is that the recent deaths of David Bowie, Lemmy, and Alan Rickman are pretty devastating for everyone, and I know all too well that cancer is a cruel bitch that takes the best of us.
If anyone wants/needs to talk about anything, or just needs someone to vent to, I'm totally open. Shoot me a pm or message me on skype.

Thought this would just be another thread complaining about cancer on the forum. Glad it wasn't.

That's very nice of you.

With today's medical advancements, I'm at a loss as to how a cure for cancer Is still unknown. Like you've said, cancer Is a very cruel disease and I wouldn't wish It upon anyone. I do hope with all the dedicated research and trials, a cure Is not too far away.

Dang, I knew Bowie and Alan Rickman, but geez. Me and some friends have all be pretty depressed. Then my grandmother passed on the thirteenth, so I've been pretty depressed lately.

RE: Cancer - Hazard - 01-18-2016

It's really saddening to see people die from cancer, especially when it's an icon of history.

Damn you, cancer Sad

RE: Cancer - Pirate - 01-19-2016

I found out one of my cousin's has terminal cancer recently, which was pretty sad. We are going on a road trip to see him this weekend. He has expected 6 months left.

RE: Cancer - Customer - 01-19-2016

I currently have a family member that survived cancer, thankfully.

It's a very nasty and vile way to go. I wish everyone who has family members cursed with this fate the best.

I think the worst part is that it doesn't tend to discriminate. I had a grandfather (veteran, energetic, healthy, exercised every day) that it took not too long ago. Sad

There is so much in the media that tells us what we should or shouldn't do to avoid getting cancer but apart from avoiding radiation, there seems to be little effect. It takes the healthiest of people along with the weakest.

Yesterday was the anniversary of my Great Aunts death and I have a friend fighting leukemia with outstanding strength. I hope that one day cancer will be something much rarer and less absolute. It's slowly getting better according to the research companies - I hope that climb continues on.

My own mother had a form of cancer, I can't remember the type. She survived, and is in remission. Still, seeing what chemo does, especially to your own mother, is not something I would wish on anyone.
