[Canadians] 2015 Election - Ion - 10-20-2015

Live:

Whom did you Canadians vote for, and why? I voted for the Liberals (Justin Trudeau) because they are the lesser evil out of all of them (every party this election year is shitty). Stephen Harper (Conservatives) is selling out our country, and we won't have a future with him.

Fellow Canadian here. I voted for the same person for the exact same reason.

Hopefully our country survives with this moron. Next election, hopefully we actually get some good choices.

Edit: After listening to his speech, I potentially have hopes for Justin Trudeau.

Unfortunately...

1. If the country survives this - Trudeau will still be running for PM next time. If thats the case, people are going to vote for him. Canadians hate change. Thats why Harper, Chretien, Mulroney all had ~10 year terms. It's only when we get sick of them and want change do we do something. It's not because Harper was the best choice in the last election LOL

2. If the country doesn't survive, Trudeau will still run for re-election. Cause who doesn't? he's already won once. Maybe he can do it again. Except we'll have a different conservative leader. And Conservative is never a good choice.

So basically, we're fucked for the next 10 years unless Trudeau steps up.

And I didn't vote. Too much of a hassle - and this would have been my last year I could have voted any ways. No point in me fucking with Canadian politics if I'm not living there.

After hearing his good speech, I have potential hopes for him. He's a very positive person, which is also a good thing. Time will tell whether or not he screws us over.

RE: [Canadians] 2015 Election - Nyx - 10-20-2015

Unfortunately I cannot vote yet, however I believe out of all the of choices the Liberals are the best. I like the idea of a young guy running the country for a change instead of old men who have let power go to their head. Trudeau will end up doing this country well I believe, maybe not right away, but by the end of his term Canada will be in a much better position financially.

I strongly agree with you on this. It's a good feeling having somebody fresh running your country. He said things about taxing the shit out of rich people, but I think he said that only for votes, and doubt he would somewhat ruin the economy.

He takes after his father in that regard. His win today is a mirror image of his fathers win ~50 years ago. Both sorta came outta nowhere and wiped out the conservative parties with sweeping majorities. They both also appealed greatly to the younger generation of the time.

I'm not canadian, though I'd vote for the same person you did.
