Pebble Smartwatch - XFL - 09-10-2015
I have a Pebble and I love the bitch. Way better than any other smartwatch on the market. Touch screens on smartwatches is a gimmick, there is no reason why anyone needs that. My watch is not only water resistant but water proof up to 30 meters (~100FT).
I know I had a lot of questions about the pebble before ordering it and I didn't know many people who had one I could ask them to so I guess I'll let you guys ask me about it.

I honestly still don't see why anyone would spend over a hundred dollars on a fucking watch.

Regarding overall functionality; its fantastic. The watch liberates me from my phone and proves its usefulness in the classroom or in any scenario where you're speaking or listening to someone of importance, but also can check your watch. I use mine to wake me up every morning and that may sound pretty weird at first but here is the reason I like it wayyy more than a traditional alarm.
Instead of providing a very loud and obnoxious sound that your body will surely adapt to after 2 weeks, it vibrates me awake. I have a certain app that is set to bring you out of REM sleep slowly instead of making a loud sound causing you to wake up and possibly irritable. The drawback to this if it you do not wake up, the vibrating motor is the biggest battery drainer I have found. To go around this, wake your god damn ass up. Trust me, having something on your wrist that vibrates will not become as easily to adapt to as a sound. I have back up alarms to also prevent me from oversleeping as I do sometimes sleep through the vibrations.
I have "walking" class in the morning and there is a built in pedometer on the watch that is pretty freaking accurate. My one app gets the job done and helps me keep track of my activity in the class. I do not recommend this watch as a fitness tracker.
In terms of stability, it has rarely crashed on me and that's typically due to the apps that are being used. Even when it does crash, the watch boots right back up within moments and doesn't seem to give a damn. I like to think the watch platform itself is 100% stable but the apps written for it are varied.
The battery life which is sometime I often preach first when discussing the Pebble. Its insane. It can easily outlast my phone (LG G3, brand new) by days. I think the longest its lasted me is 6 days and 5 nights so about 5-6 days (Assuming I wake up on time, every time) When I don't, the watch can still last for about 3 days and I think the quickest I ever drained the battery was 2 days which was the first two days I had it because I couldn't get off the damn thing. Games are very fun, if you find the most basic of games enjoyable.
Charging the device takes a little under an hour from almost dead to full. I wish I could make that up but it literally only takes, 1, hour.
Last but not least, accessibility. I wear my watch on my left wrist. I think most people do. Even if you do not, the buttons to get around the watch are positioned in a fashion that will never cause you to miss-press one of them. The back (Home) button is on the left side of the watch and the up, select, and down are on the right side. After about a day, I already could figure out what button I was on just by knowing that and feeling the device without looking at it.
You can SORT OF, reply to basic messages such as texts and facebook messages but only by using templates. Most of mine are just saying Ill text you soon after class or something along those lines. I'm almost certain that every push notification that your phone gives off, will be sent to your watch so you'll never miss a thing.
As for music, it sucks. This may just be my case because I haven't tinkered with it all to much for music. The built in alarm is snazzy but I have another app that takes this place.
My biggest gripe about the watch so far is that I feel as if I need 2 apps just to make it feel finished. There is no timer to my knowledge so I downloaded timer+ which is nice looking too. I have the OG, like I said which is the orignal one in black. I replaced my watch strap with something more durable, and to make it feel less of a toy and more of a tech-savvy accessory.

Wow, thanks for the In depth review. It's certainly of great help.
I have to say, the built-In pedometer and particularly the long battery life, Is what makes this device stand ahead of the rest. Every phone I've purchased, Inclusive of the one I currently own, has/had a poor battery life. Given the music side of It Isn't crash hot, other features definitely make up for It. And you can simply listen to music on another device, no big deal at all.

And why would anyone spend over $100 on weed? Or spend over $100 going out, getting drunk and partying? At least this has something to show for. What I'm saying Is, there's no right or wrong. Each to their own, hence be It as It may.

Pebble has it down with the e-ink displays. Their costs, even for the most expensive model, is cheaper than the moto360 which is the only other smartwatch id even consider. The pebble isnt all that colorful but the pebble time just came out and uses a 64-bit color profile on a e-ink display. Better than the 3 total colors i get with my watch. However, i dont need color on my watch.
The technology just isnt there to support the other watches with large enough battery life for it to be a convenience.
