£500 Budget Build - Lynux - 03-20-2015

Hello All,

I was just thinking about building my own system, what do you guys think to this as a first time build?

AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz Six Core (Socket AM3+)

Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 AMD Socket AM3+

ASUS AMD Radeon R7 240 2GB Graphics Card

HyperX FURY White 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Memory Module

Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB SATA III 3.5" Hard Drive

Ace BR Black 500W Power Supply

AvP Imp-M89 Black Mini Tower Case

Sumvision Stryder Gaming USB Keyboard and Mouse Set

Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit DVD OEM

Microsoft Xbox 360 Wired Controller for Windows (Black)

This comes to £410.99 all together so $612.25.

Your PSU is trash. Spend money where it counts. Buy a reliable Antec or Corsair PSU.

Also your case only has USB 2.0 ports. Spend a bit more and get a better case.

The reviews say it's a very bad PSU. The last thing you want is a power surge that fries all your parts.

+1 For having a solid PSU.

As you're in the UK, check out Novatech. They do a good PSU that's served me well for a year or two.

Thanks Lux for the PSU it's a little over budget but it should do fine for what I need.

RE: £500 Budget Build - Uzinero - 03-20-2015

I came up with this, slightly over budget including the Xbox 360 controller coming to £582.00 + You'd need to then get the M+KB combo bringing you to about £600. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/KxmGD3

Here's a notable site for you, it's not perfect but it is pretty good:
http://choosemypc.net/

This is what it came up with for a £500 budget in the UK, not including Windows (seriously, if you're on a budget just pirate it.):

If you insist on buying Windows legit though, here's what it suggests:

Thanks @Uzinero I will tweak each item and see what I come up with
