Getting into Web Development - Nyx - 02-18-2015 So I am starting to take learning web development seriously, and I was wondering if anyone here that actively does web programming, design, etc... could tell me what tools I could download that I would really benefit from? I currently use Notepad++ for everything but I heard about tools that make web design easier as I'm terrible with CSS. My buddy told my Bootstrap is a must have for Web Design but im not sure if that's something I would use all that much. If someone could give me a short list of "must have" programs that'd be wonderful! RE: Getting into Web Development - Alex - 02-18-2015 It's always better to learn things the hard way. A program isn't going to make you good at CSS. RE: Getting into Web Development - Eclipse - 02-18-2015 I love DreamWeaver for the simple reason that it closes my tags for me. Seriously, that feature is underrated. That + FileZilla is pretty much all you need. Cweepy and Dubby know their shit too. And so do Koala and Onibubby. RE: Getting into Web Development - Master - 02-19-2015 Like Eclipse mentioned DreamWeaver is a must but you can get a plugin for notepad ++ that closes tag for you. I believe it's called TextFX Characters. RE: Getting into Web Development - Nyx - 02-19-2015 (02-18-2015, 11:40 PM)Alex Wrote: It's always better to learn things the hard way. I don't want a program that'll make me good at CSS, I just want a program that will help me with CSS, aka helping me properly format and make everything more organized so it's easier for me to work with. Dreamweaver is pretty helpful for formatting. RE: Getting into Web Development - lux - 02-19-2015 Fuck dreamweaver. Notepad++ or Adobe Brackets. All webdevs droppe dreamweaver in 2007. Seriously use a simple text editor, brackets is very good for Web dev with its live preview and syntax highlighting. RE: Getting into Web Development - D@rk1433 - 03-14-2015 I suggest to use Brackets & Sublime text for that. Those are very reliable and mostly use nowdays. |
