Change IP? - Excel - 12-13-2014

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, didn't know where to put it.

But I need to change my ip, I dont have time to unplug it for 24 hours or any of that shit. Any simple way to change it?

Yes, it is indeed in the wrong section...

Use a proxy or a VPN to change your IP address. There are other ways, but that's the, by far, simplest ^^

Proxy or VPN does not really change your IP Address.

@Excel You can't really do it unless you have a dynamic IP. You can call your ISP and ask to change your IP Address.

Run the following lines in your Command Prompt on Microsoft Windows:
Code:
ipconfig /release ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /renew

If this does not work then you have a static IP address and your only solution is a call to the ISP.

For anonymity and security reasons I recommend using Tor and/or VPN at all times.

I lol'd

On topic: SOCKS proxies or VPNs. These don't necessarily change your IP considering all you're doing is forwarding your data through a server that tricks other servers into thinking your IP is something it's not. Also, it isn't permanent and your IP goes back to what it was after you've disconnected.

There is no tricking of any kind. Your traffic destination just receives your traffic from your middle man(proxy or VPN) and that is all there is to it. No need to use fancy words.

A vpn isn't going to help it, and the only computers in the house are chromebooks and macs, I dont have access to a windows computer right now. So unless you guys know a way to change it via shell or terminal.

I'm trying really... really hard not to flame you right now.

Macs can use VPNs too (idk about chromebooks), the fuck made you think only windows computers can? Download Spotflux, Hotspot shield, or Mullvad (costs money but ensures privacy, doesn't store logs, etc) if you want a VPN for the mac.

Also, did you even bother to acknowledge the fact that I mentioned SOCKS proxies? Download torbrowser and use it as your main browser if you're willing to risk a little speed for anonymity.

Fucktard, I'm not stupid if I wanted to use a vpn I would, but a vpn isn't going to cut it. I need to change my IP. ffs, I already have a vpn.

What the fuck did you make this thread for you idiot? If you have a static IP, only way you're changing anything is through a VPN or proxy. I don't think you know what you're asking for.
