Safe alternative to uTorrent? - ShawnReynolds - 09-13-2014

I am looking for a safe alternative to uTorrent, as I have recently found out that they are an anti-p2p organization.

Thanks,
Shawn Reynolds & Vallex Koten

Now I'm curious as to where you are getting your information that BitTorrent, Inc was an anti-p2p organization. Last I heard, they were very much into the p2p sharing.

Peer Block says it is anti-p2p.

Unfortunately I didn't find the article or information that stated that the developer of uTorrent was 'anti-p2p'. I'll admit that I may have missed it, though most of the articles I found with regard to uTorrent were more dealing with settings and configurations. If you have a link, I would be very interested in the information on the site that reflects that uTorrent is anti-p2p.

If you are not wanting to use uTorrent, there are a bunch of p2p downloading clients out there. Ultimately though, if you find you have trust issues with software like that the best recommendation I can give would be to make your own.

I've been using deluge and haven't had any problems with it for a few months now.

I have not found any articles about it, but when I use Peer Block, it blocks the website saying that it is an anti-p2p.

Do you think you could post the link to the program files? I do not really feel comfortable with installing.

Like candiddream, I can't find anything anywhere stating that BitTorrent inc are anti p2p. PeerBlock probably has reasons to block bittorrents, but it may not be directly p2p related.

I honestly have no idea why you want an alternative to BitTorrent or uTorrent anyway, they are far better than any other torrent program out there. If you do want an alternative though try BitLord - but like all other alternatives to BitTorrent, expect a ton of adverts and bugs in the client.

I did find something regarding uTorrent on peerblock, but it was dealing with iblocksite causing an issue with even trusted sites coming up with the 'untrusted' tag.

Peer Block blocks BitLord as well, but I do not know what for.

EDIT: I checked out Deluge's download page, but there is no x64 version, so I cannot use it anyway.

Well If it seems to be blocking all the popular bittorrents then there is obviously something wrong with Peer Block. Why do you even use peerblock?
