C++ KeyGen Help? - ShawnReynolds - 09-12-2014

I need to learn some C++ code, because my teacher does not know much programming herself, and I want to make a KeyGen for some programs, for my friends, because they do not put their keys in text files, and I do not want them getting in trouble for searching for them online. I have nearly no experience in C++, but I was hoping someone could teach me some code in this language.

Thanks,
Shawn Reynolds

Firstly, you might want to explain what you think a keygen is, because the line "because they do not put their keys in text files" is confusing. Are you talking about a password keychain? Or are you talking about a piece of software that generates correct keys for a piece of software?

If it is the latter I honestly believe that is out of your skill level (unless you have a list of predefined valid keys, which would be really stupid to make a piece of software around that).

To make a keygen you are going to have to understand how the software makes keys and what it understands as being a valid key.

You can't just "make a keygen" for any licensed software. It requires lots of research and due to the fact that you know nothing about any c languages I am certain this research is out of your skill level.

Alright, I will wait until I have more experience before attempting this then. Thank you for the information.

Do you have a specific piece of software you want this to be for? Have you already tried cracking/REing it?

Yeah, I wanted to do it for some programs by NCH software, and some other editing programs. I do not know how to crack or reverse engineer programs. I have tried Olly Debug, but never understood the tutorials for it.
