Website Hacked - Artista - 07-24-2014 Hey guys, So I finally can create a Topic. And I'll use this privilege to learn something more about hacking a website. The website: Hacked Website Description: This website is in ownership of my friend who is a veterinarian (Animal Care). She doesn't know much about pages etc, so she just ordered one online and they created it for her. After it got hacked, she told me, she doesn't recieve any responds from the webmaster in order to help her restore the website. If someone's concerned that I am trying some Black Hat stuff here, I'd like to elaborate that with following conclusion: The site has clearly been hacked if you open the Page. The hacker even introduced himself / herself. There's no logical conclusion, that I have bad intentions on something, that is already corrupted / not working. Goal: I just want to get the control back to my friend (username / password or whatever is necessary to get back the ownership). Whether it is with hacking back in or any other way. I have no expirience in hacking, so I will use this as a learning Guide. Help is kindly appreciated. If any more information is required, I will try to give it to you, however, I do not have access to the Admin Panel or anything like that. A RE: Website Hacked - Ex094 - 07-24-2014 Who is the host provider? RE: Website Hacked - Artista - 07-24-2014 According to this: WHOis It's ARNES (if I recall correctly, this one is some Slovenian Web Host). A RE: Website Hacked - The Real Slim Shady - 07-24-2014 (07-24-2014, 09:16 AM)Artista Wrote: According to this: WHOis ARNES looks like the top authority for domain names/network infrastructure - They likely have nothing to do with hosting your site. According to that who.is, the domain registrar is http://www.hitrost.com The host appears to be prlek.si - but their site is down - and its just a gut feeling but im betting this wasnt an established company and was just a reseller - reseller probably got hacked and all their hosted sites are done. RE: Website Hacked - Artista - 07-24-2014 @Geoff: I checked prlek.si and it says "Under Construction" . Do you think the hackers would write that ? What if it's really under construction - can they do that? I mean, can they take down all of their sites just because their site is under construction? Moreover, still, the site veterinalendava.si got hacked, it's clear, since it's stated like that when you visit it. It's not "down". A RE: Website Hacked - The Real Slim Shady - 07-24-2014 (07-24-2014, 10:23 AM)Artista Wrote: @Geoff: ns*.prlek.si is the name server - this generally refers to the specific server hosting the site. this means that the host is probably prlek.si (although not necessarily the case). I am aware that it says under construction and I would posit that it was because their site was also hacked and defaced - and its taking them time to restore/find the hack (if they are even looking) and do not want to leave the "hacked" message so put Under Construction. But thats just an educated guess - I cant really know for sure. Basically -if you cant get a hold of anyone related to the site/domain - theres not much you could do. My suggestion would be to go after the domain, see if you actually own it and try to get control, at that point find new hosting and create a new site. RE: Website Hacked - Artista - 07-24-2014 @Geoff: Thanks for the input. What about educational-wise, is it possible to hack into above mentioned page? Say to rewrite the Hackers messeage into something else? A RE: Website Hacked - The Real Slim Shady - 07-24-2014 (07-24-2014, 10:40 AM)Artista Wrote: @Geoff:Possible? Probably - Legal? No. RE: Website Hacked - Artista - 07-24-2014 (07-24-2014, 10:42 AM)Geoff Wrote: Possible? Probably - Legal? No. Yes, but isn't this part where it comes to Ethical / Notethical and not Legal / Illegal? The site is already hacked by someone else. The original site owner is my friend who allows me to (lets say) hack in. Or her words 'if you can, try to get back the site'. Isn't this like, lets say, Pen-testing? A RE: Website Hacked - Spirit - 07-24-2014 Feel free to contact Megusta Attacker on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/100003958198629 @Artista, it's legal as long as you have permission to hack it from the appropriate people. For example, if you owned your own website, don't you think that it doesn't matter if you hack it yourself for whatever reason? Though, I would recommend getting some sort of documentation that says that you were allowed so you can use it as a potential "Get out of jail for free" card. |
