Hey guys..so i would like to share with you a list i find very useful in scanning websites
So the first thing you do is visit
1- news.netcraft.com
there you just paste the url of the website to see what it is running you can find hosting domain..name servers and lots of interesting stuff
second i use
2- www.archive.org
actually this site i find very important it shows you the history of the website actually sometimes it's very useful aobut a month ago a friend of mine needed prorat offcourse everyone knows that but all he could find online was zip protected files and the password was changed and wasn't the original so i wen on archive.org went back in the website for 2 years and i downloaded Prorat knowing that the website is down now but i still could downoad the file through archive.org
and offcourse my favorite lookup tool is
3- www.sharingmyip.com
it gives you a list off all the sites sharing the same ip i just love this tool and offcourse you know when you havk one of those sites you can do a backdoor to the others knowing that most online tools require payment for such thing..this website is for free
4-Scanning with nmap
and considering that you're a linux user do
nmap -Sv -O xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
on any website to get open filtered and service detection on most of the ports of this website
5-nikto
use nikto -h www.yoursite.com
gives you a lot of useful information as well
there your target just moved from a blackbox to a gray box or maybe w whitebox lol if you use these tools is the right way
and offcourse you can always use dnsenum a useful tool on kali i don't know if it is present on other unix systems
