Rule #10 - Inori - 05-25-2014

I realize there's a lot of porn accounts getting shared around in premiums and talk about related subjects. This confuses me because it's clearly stated in the rules:
bluedog.tar.gz Wrote:10. No adult images, adult links, or adult account trading.
What's going on here?

@"Jinxed", that is something we don't talk ever about.
Never.
Ever.
... Ever.

I think you're missing 'ever'. But really, I don't get it..

Perhaps he may have developed this thought on his own after seeing the several porn accounts that were shared in the Premium Accounts forum area?

Well, I would expect that if he were capable of that kind of thought, he wouldnt use the term "lots" so loosely. There have been no threads posted this year (which is about half over). and there was a total of 6 posted in 2013.

And there was about a dozen posted in 2012. Now I am not sure when that rule was added - But this thread implies that there is a /current/ rampant problem with account trading. Obviously the rule hasnt always existed - or perhaps the rules in the premium section were relaxed - but regardless those accounts are long worthless. You'd be lucky if they worked when they were posted. They certainly wouldnt work now.

I really dont see /any/ discussion of account trading or pornography at the moment or in recent history.

We can definitely argue about this.

He said, and I quote:
"I realize there's a lot of porn accounts getting shared around in premiums..."

They're technically still being shared around here on HC by just simply being their for the public's eye to view. If they are publicly sharing said threads with the public to this very second, they are in theory sharing those accounts with us right now. There might not be up-to-date porn accounts being shared, but they are still being shared either way. Old or new, it's true. (I made a rhyme!)

And worthless or not, some of them, if not, all of them worked at some point. I'm pretty sure there's a Punishtube account which is currently being shared in the Premium Accounts forum area that works just fine. *cough* Don't ask how I know *cough*

EDIT: You don't have to continue to argue this if you don't want to. I only argued that in the first place because I simply enjoy arguing. Lol

There are tons of crap posts that break our /current/ rules simply because those rules didnt necessarily always exist. The threads are still breaking the rules but who the fuck is gonna go through every thread and look for content that breaks the current rules? We just let them rot in hell.

Are you suggesting we go and warn/discipline everyone in the premium forums for posting content that breaks the rules now? kinda fucking pointless if you ask me.

And quite frankly - they arent really "public". They are private forums. You need to have upgraded permissions to access them.

But really - what do you think "Premium accounts" means? Obviously the forum is there for upgraded members. Its not difficult to discern that an exception has been made for that forum. We simply dont want porn or illegal stuff posted publicly everywhere.

So no - you cant post hentai in Open Discussion. Thats against the rules. But bluedog isnt an idiot - you wouldnt have a forum where the content that you post would get you banned.

Is that not common fucking sense? lol

It is common "fudging" sense.

It is still a public forum to some extent. Not everyone can see it, but anyone who isn't just a regular member sure can. And once again, they're still actively being shared with members of HC. They may not be active in the sense you're thinking of, but they are in some sense just because of their presence.

I don't suggest that we go delete all of the porn from there either. Removing all of those threads/posts would be pretty useless since no one actually cares. But if this continues to become an issue or if it's bothering any certain members in particular, I think that it would only be fair if we made some effort to remove the porn since it still is technically breaking the rules.

By definition of public, if certain people or groups are being excluded, or only particular people or groups are being included, its not "public". Thats like suggesting the freemasons are a public organisation because you can be invited in. By definition, the private forums are not public to some extent. You need to meet certain requirements to enter/view them.

And theres no point in deleting just the content. If its deemed the content isnt allowed then that whole forum is pointless. And yet - the forum exists.

And clearly someone ^^ cares. Otherwise this thread wouldnt be here.
