◄◄◄SE'd a Graphics Card►►► (chocchief) - ILLROOTS - 05-02-2014 *Property of KwickFix* Wow I forgot to post this one earlier when I did my other threads lol Out of curiosity I tried this on Leadtek a few weeks ago after I went on holiday to Taiwan, and surprisingly it worked, just received it this morning, been testing out my new GPU today lol. Theoretically it should work with any GPU but I did the 660 ti because you know, it makes me looks like I'm on a budget and who would try to fraudify a last gen not-top-of-the-line GPU, making it look real. Requirements:
Step 1. Go to Leadtek's support page Step 2: Send them a new inquiry with your name, email, and topic. The topic should be something along the lines of "GPU fan not working" or something, you guys don't need to be spoonfed on how to write titles. Step 3. Tell them a story about how you went on holiday to Taiwan and since Taiwan is world famous for high quality products, you went and bought a Leadtek GTX [insert model here] from one of the stores because it was so cheap and you heard good things about Leadtek (don't actually need to say this but I like to make them feel good about giving me a free GPU), but when you came home to [insert home country here] and you put it in your PC, you found that the fan was broken in that it didn't spin all the time, and when it did spin it made a horrible noise (send an mp3 if you want to be overly convincing). You can't return the GPU to the store because it is halfway around the world, so you were wondering if you could get a replacement GPU from them, otherwise you wasted $10,000 NTD (Taiwanese $$$). Say thank you for helping since angry customers don't get what they want unless it's the Duracell method lol Step 4: They'll go through the normal crap about "are you sure it's broken", just say that you checked it for any obvious problems such as dust and you can't see anything wrong with it, and say something sad like how you can't play games because of the overheating. Step 5: Eventually they'll get to the part where you can get your free GPU. First they will probably ask for your proof of purchase, which is the tricky bit. To stick with your story of "I went to Taiwan" you'll need to procure a Taiwanese receipt, which means putting Chinese characters in the receipt Don't cry, if anything, only the name of the store will be in Chinese, and it will probably have the English name right under it, so it's easy enough to fake. For example, I came up with the stereotypical name of "Wei Chong Electronic Store" and if you put that straight into Google Translate we get a great name. For location just make it one of the big Taiwanese malls, such as Guang Hua Digital Plaza or NOVA Shopping Mall, both of which you can google.Step 6: Once you send a believable receipt and they believe it, they will (ok well I don't know that for sure but they did for me) ask you to send the GPU in first, so what I did was send nothing, but I told them that I did, and a week later, they asked me about it, so I showed them a fake post office receipt with the correct weight and shit, and a few weeks after they confirmed they got it. Or if you're good at boxing, use the box method. I'm not sure if they will ask for a VCC or anything because they didn't for me, but generally for expensive things one is required so prepare for that too if needed. Step 7: Wait for the reply and get a free GPU lol In case no one realised, Leadtek will get suspicious if 50 people suddenly all start complaining about GPU fans, so don't always use Leadtek! Pick another unknown Chinese vendor like XFX (well not XFX since they are kind of well known) thank me or I'll call the leecher police on you ![]() Proof:
