Tails a distro to be invisible information - Hu3c0 - 04-16-2014 Edward Snowden has become one of the most controversial figures of today for their actions that ended with hundreds of secret documents from the NSA publicly available . Considering that was able to fool one of the most closed organizations worldwide , perhaps a good idea to follow his footsteps in some aspects related to security , such as the operating system you use : Tails Linux. Not surprisingly, the choice of Snowden is a Linux system, which the source code is known and therefore the potential vulnerabilities can more easily find and fix ; also makes sense that a system is designed to run on a USB drive , as this can go forth and on any computer connected to your preferences. A Linux designed with privacy in mind But Tails is not a distro as there are many designed to run on a USB or a Live -CD, but is focused on safety. So come installed default tools like Tor to surf the web safely, PGP to encrypt and decrypt , KeePassX to store passwords and instant messaging OTR plugin to encrypt our conversations. All these programs have also been modified for even more security. Tails The idea is that we can carry it anywhere and connect without a trace ; however, by focusing on the aspect of security , others leave a little sloppy , but we can always install programs that meet our needs. But if you are going to install the same programs we use in either desktop , in order to have a secure system disappears ; useless if we just use Tails connecting us to unsafe or suspicious online services , for example. So Tails is not a system for everyday use as Snowden ago , but one that can be very useful in certain situations where you want maximum privacy possible.
