Hi [username], I came up with a technique that can help you create an easy to remember but secure password (there are probably a lot of other people who have thought of this, but for the few who didn't here you go).
Step 1:
Think of a long sentence which is easy to remember like
Example 1: If I spend more time on the internet I have to be more secure.
or
Example 2: This tutorial will make my password easy to remember and will increase my security.
Step 2:
Take the first letter of every word
Example 1: IIsmtotiIhtbms
and
Example 2: Ttwmmpetrawims
Step 3:
Mangle characters
- use leet speak
- use capitalization in random places
- replace the words and in a '+' symbol or and '&' symbol
- you can replace the words to,too and two with 2
- or some other mangling rules
Example 1: IIsm70tiIh78m5
and
Example 2: 7twmmp3tr&w1m$
Some tips:
- be creative
- use different passwords for different websites
- use the website name in your sentence make it easier to remember
(eg: Hackcommunity has taught me to create secure passwords (Hc#7m2c5p))
