Windows 8: Won't Boot Linux from USB - Tux5187 - 02-27-2014
Is anyone else having this issue? I have read a few threads on Google but nothing on how to really fix the issue.
I have disabled fast boot and have set the boot priority to the USB Drive. I have even taken the Windows Boot Manager off the boot list and have run into issues. It just seems like my computer doesn't like linux.

Have you turned on the legacy boot option to enable, if yes then restart and press esc or F11 depending on your vendor. Also make sure that when you are restarting the PC or Laptop your pendrive must be plugged in. Then its a general process. Choose start from pendrive from the Boot options.

Enable the legacy boot. Then Plugin your pendrive and then restart your PC, then press esc or F11 or something that says to go to the boot options and then choose start from USB.

Thank you... I re-enabled my Legacy Boot.
Which if anyone else is having this issue follow these steps:
1. Run CMD in Admin
2. Type -> bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy
If you would like to disable legacy boot it is: bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard
It took me a while to figure this out but it has been solved. Thank you once again.
