hi i am trying to bypass a Mac filter on a network,
i am using this to associate with the ap.
iwconfig wlan1 essid Telecom WiFi channel 7
my problem is that when i use an essid with spaces in it console bitches about every word following the inital essid word.
eg: iwconfig: unknown command "WiFi"
i have tried adding " " to each end and it accepts but when i run iwconfig wlan1 the essid seems to have included the " " in its name.
Is this normal or do i need to do something else?

Oooo...the "b"word is a very...strong word! And if it's Telecom WiFi...it'll be "Telecom WiFi" haha
If you have done that already...have you turned it off and on again?

Did you try to put the \ char before typing your space like:
Telecom\ WiFi

i got sick of all the command line not working so i installed wicd network manager and i love it. it shows every ap i need

Don't forget to rename your thread with [solved] that could help other members
