Windows xp , 7 , 8 So Before Proceeding With The topic First Of All I want to tell you all about server. Server is a physical computer dedicated to run one or more different kind of services and to serve the needs of the users by sending them the data asked or desired by them in the words of Wikipedia “ to serve the needs of the users of other computers on a network” so hope you understand the definition In the simple language the server is that computer which take request from the user and send him the data back. Server proceeds request asked by the user and then find files matching to the request and later send back to the user like let’s take an example when we send our image in marriage bureau, the person sitting on the chair in the bureau acts as a server then he checks and finds a perfect match for us then he send backs the response to us as in the same way the server works. Apache Serve Apache is generally recognized as the world's most popular Web server (HTTP server). Originally designed for UNIX environments. But these days it is available for windows and other network operating systems. Apache Is Web Application Software. it provides full range of Web server features, including CGI, SSL, helps to fool symlink and virtual domains. Apache is free software, distributed by the Apache Software Foundation that promotes various free and open sources advanced Web technologies and applications. Let’s proceed with Our Topic 1. Download appserv-win32-2.5.10 2. Install appserv-win32-2.5.10 Steps For Installing Apache Server (Appserv) ![]() ![]() After that it will ask to enter the server name & the server id. Then type the input according to your wish. As in my case the server name is localhost & the id is localhost@root.com Server Name=localhost Server id=localhost@root.com ![]() Then click on next and then it will ask you to enter a Mysql password. Type the desired password according to your wish. Then click on next. Now it will take 2 to 3 minutes for completing the installation. Take 2 to 3 minutes for completing the installation. ![]() Click finish & after that it will start the apache server on your machine To check if the Apache server has started or not open your web browser and type there http://localhost Before typing the above Firstly go to local disk C:\AppServ\www\ And delete the Index.php file which is by default present in the directory www Now Open http://localhost ![]() So now Go to Same Direct C:\AppServ\www And create a new file index.html and then by default it will load the index.html file so now open the http://localhost Then it will look like It will show you what you have typed in the index.html file \ ![]() Now we will be accessing our apache server through IPV4 address So go start -> all programs -> Appserv -> Configuration server -> Apache edit httpd.conf And then when you click on that file it will open it in notepad then press Ctrl+f (to find) Now types listen And then it will show you results like the below #Listen 12.34.56.78:80 Listen 80 Remove the # Sign and replace your ip address with the 12.34.56.78:80 and Put # sign in front of the Listen 80 (# is used for defining the given statement as a comment) Like here I have shown you below. Listen 192.168.2.6:80 # listen 80 Now open your ip address http://192.168.2.6 (your ip address) ![]() Accessing Your Apache Server with the Static ip Address Requirements: 1. Noip Account 2. Duc (download it from the official Noip Site) 3. Internet Connectivity //If You Guys Are Using Dongle Then You Guys Have To Forward Your Port by Adding New Rule in the Firewall Additional Settings. // Now to Get Static Ip Address 1. Go to Noip.com 2. It is a free Domain registering website that allows us to register a domain, so as to link it to our account. 3. After you go to no-ip you’ll need to register an account, after this you should be able to login. ![]() 4. after that click on add host ![]() ![]() and at down you will see update host and you are done you have successfully created a DNS ![]() Now that we have created a Domain, we need some intermedium connectivity with the Domain, so we use special software which acts as an interface between our machine and The domain registered. In this case, we are going to use the software by the name DUC Client. ![]() After Successfully Login, Please click on Select Hosts and Select one of the host. ![]() After selecting your host click on refresh button and it will be like ![]() So Now You All Done Again Go To start -> all programs -> Appserv -> Configuration server -> Apache edit httpd.conf And Then Again Search For Listen and At The Place Of Your Ip Address Put your Host Name #listen manjotandnavdeep.zapto.org:80 Listen 80 ![]() And Then Save The File And Restart Apache Server And Then You Just Have To Type Your Host Name In Browser And You Will See That Your Apache Server Is Running On The Static Ip address Now Everyone From Any Part Of The World Can Open You Host And You Can Use This Server For Transferring Files From One Computer To Another Rather Than Uploading Your Files To Any Free Uploading Site.
