Honesty or Cleverness? - The Alchemist - 12-29-2012 Well, lately I'd been hearing news about some of my friends that are really shocking and unpredictable. Seeing them, a question popped up in my mind. Who survives in this world? The honest or the clever? By clever, I mean generally cunning people who trick others to get ahead of them. What do you think guys? Being honest is good, but why? Being cunning/clever might help you to get ahead of others easily, but isn't that bad? Why? Can anyone answer? RE: Honesty or Cleverness? - LoneDevil - 12-29-2012 Morally, cleverness is bad, but in getting ahead of life it's good. But you can be honest, yet clever at the same time though. So this is a hard question. Because you can use your cleverness to get ahead, but use it in a way that you don't push others aside to do so. They can be opposite but they don't have to Also, honesty has to do with truth, and truth has many sides :x In that way a clever guy can turn the truth in his advantage and being honest in his clever own eyes haha RE: Honesty or Cleverness? - Linuxephus™ - 12-29-2012 I couldn't have put any of the above in better words even myself. All replies basically hit directly to the point. Of course though, me personally, I always have a comment for something.:headbash: Cleverness used in a dishonest manner only works for so long before the very pattern of it's dishonest nature is seen by the very merit of the actions taken by another who uses such cleverness. Being honest about one's cleverness & thus simply being yourself with who you are in the use of that honest cleverness requires no nefarious intent or action against another due to the inherent nature of one being known for ones honesty & cleverness. RE: Honesty or Cleverness? - Nailo - 12-29-2012 Cleverness is a wall between honesty and dishonesty; it is not apparent to which side the wall belongs. RE: Honesty or Cleverness? - bluesmoke - 12-29-2012 Cleverness is bad & Honesty is the Best and Everybody will spent his time on this rath until & unless this World Destroys.... RE: Honesty or Cleverness? - Linuxephus™ - 12-29-2012 Cleverness is the wall that hides the intent of honesty or dishonesty. Cleverness possesses the cunning to such extent that none are aware a wall even exists. RE: Honesty or Cleverness? - FunKx - 12-29-2012 Cleverness + Honesty = Epic Win. No, really. RE: Honesty or Cleverness? - The Alchemist - 12-29-2012 But how can cleverness and honesty go hand in hand? In the thread, I'd mentioned "By clever, I mean generally cunning people who trick others to get ahead of them." Being clever(cunning) and being honest are exactly two opposite things... For a clever(cunning) person, to trick others, he has to involve dishonesty.. |
