VPN For Ubuntu - L3st4t - 12-08-2012

Does anyone know any VPNs for ubuntu? My school's network blocks most good sites so I want to bypass that. I am running xubuntu 12.04 lts.

a VPN isn't OS related. Its all about the client such as OPENVPN which has a windows client aswell as a Linux client.
You could also bypass sites by using a proxy which is free.

VPN are mostly paid, you've got some free ones such as 'Hotspot shield'.

Is there a free one compatible with ubuntu? Also is there any way to kick people off a public network? How can I use a proxy?

Ubuntu VPN -> https://wiki.ubuntu.com/VPN
Kick people off network -> Go to router and kick the mac/ip adress.
How to use proxy -> http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy/

Ok. I have no real experience with this stuff so cut me a break. And to kick people off can I do it without access to a router? I can't get to any of my school's network hardware.

I think you should use tor, its easy to use and no administration password required, and i belive it will bypass the schools block. Check out my post on it http://www.hackcommunity.com/Thread-Easy-Free-IP-Changing-browser

Tor is good but the problem with tor is that it is slow because it offers so much security it is slow..
