A good hex editor ? - armoros - 10-26-2012 Hello my friends,i would like to tell me from your experience which one is a good hex editor, for reverse engineering/malware analysis etc. for win OS Free or paid. I would like it to be portable,i heard about MCafees file insight what is your opinion ? Thank you in advance RE: A good hex editor ? - Frooxius - 10-26-2012 I myself like the HxD editor, it's quite capable and still free: http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/ But what works best for me when picking some application is actually to download a bunch of them and try them out and pick the one that I like the best. RE: A good hex editor ? - armoros - 10-26-2012 Thank you my friend for the reply,i will check it right now RE: A good hex editor ? - KickTheBaby102 - 01-03-2013 Only one i know is HxD... RE: A good hex editor ? - Coder-san - 01-03-2013 Hex Workshop is also nice. RE: A good hex editor ? - Linuxephus™ - 01-04-2013 VI for Unix/Linux makes a good hex editor. VIM (Vi IMproved) makes a good hex editor for Linux. EMACS also makes another good hex editor for Linux, though it is abit on the "heavy" side. Bluefish is also another good hex editor for Linux. My personal preference however would be Vi IMproved. There's almost nothing (with-in reason) that can't be done using it. |
