Alright guys - Lets get this thing rolling again! - Jacob - 09-17-2012

Now it is up to YOU to bring back hackcommunity's old glory and fame (and infamy cSmile

I need some helps from you guys though!

What changes would you like to see to HC? Add/remove features, etc.

What new content would you like to see? Within HC rules

Where the hell are all the HC ACE's?!?! Its Cheap and helps us a lot!

I would first focus on fixing some of the problems, like the 404 errors.

1) But I made some suggestions before, for example one of them would also fix one existing problem - problem with the dark/light scheme - automatically (but not permanently! Do it on the client-side) adjust text color of posts based on the currently selected theme, because switch to the light theme basically broke the color formatting of older posts, that relied on the dark theme, so the text is now too bright. Also some people use colors badly, so it was unreadable to begin with, so it would fix that too. Simply, it would intelligently adjust the colors (ideally only brightness) so there would be high contrast with the background and the text would be readable.

2) I would also prevent people from making thread names like "****** THREADNAME *******" to make them more visible among others. Clean, civilized and informative thread names look much better and are fair to others, threads should be interesting by their actual topic, not by glitter.

3) Forbid "text-in-image" threads. First it breaks the forum style, second it's impossible to search these, which is bad for SEO and also for the search function on the forums itself. It's kinda weird to suggest people to search first, before asking and allow threads that are non-searchable. Alternatively, require authors of such threads to provide text form of the whole thread in the same post.
Example: http://www.hackcommunity.com/Thread-✰-☆-★Runescape-E-Book-Hacking-★-☆-✰?pid=91894

4) Maybe add this to a recommended read in the announcements? It contains a lot of valuable information on how to ask smart questions and generally behave in a hacker community:

I don't think they will, I suggested it a few times already and it always went ignored.
