After Installation of Ubuntu 11.10 when i restart pc ask me for boot xp 0r ubuntu.
when i boot with ubuntu the above error appears

The message about the 'prefix not being set' is innocuous (happens on every 11.10 wubi install on every boot).
Not sure why running updates would cause corruption of the root.disk (that's another issue I guess, but see if you can recover the root.disk in the meantime).
