Old Windows OS (1.0 and above) - ShawnReynolds - 11-19-2014 I found a website that has a good amount of Windows operating systems for download: winworldpc.com I downloaded a couple of the files, but does anyone know how I would use them, as they are floppy disks and I have no way of burning to a floppy disk or even reading a floppy disk. Thanks, SER RE: Old Windows OS (1.0 and above) - EXiLE - 11-20-2014 I believe you are able to burn them to a Live CD, which I am unable to do but someone here might know how. But floppies do not work from live cds, at least that is what I have been told. RE: Old Windows OS (1.0 and above) - The Toilet Paper King - 11-20-2014 Well for starters, its unlikely that Windows 1.0 - 3.1 would run native on modern computer architecture. Hell it probably wouldn't run native on a 10 year old computer. This is because it was designed to run on 16 bit processors. In this day and age 32 bit processors are even considered dated, and 64 bit has been the standard for quite a few years now with WIndows supporting 64 bit for well over a decade now. About the only thing you could do is attempt to run it in a virtual environment that simulates a 16 bit intel architecture. Not sure whats out there that still supports this ancient crap, but you can search. or more likely post a thread 3 minutes after reading this response asking which virtual environments support a 16 bit architecture. I already knew that they would not work on modern computers, I was not sure if there were any virtual environment programs for these. I did not know what bit they were. I do not post threads that soon after asking something else unless I have searched and not found anything. RE: Old Windows OS (1.0 and above) - The Toilet Paper King - 11-22-2014 I just came across an old directory containing all my old Windows operating systems. Found 7+8 and threw them in with it.
RE: Old Windows OS (1.0 and above) - Skullmeat - 11-24-2014 I fucking love winworld. They have alot of good stuff. RE: Old Windows OS (1.0 and above) - Nebulous - 11-24-2014 thanks but how to polymorphic shellcode to execute /bin/sh? |
