Scenario Discussion. - Alex - 11-14-2014 You live in a city with a high population of drug users via syringes. The government official is proposing a act to give this drug users clean syringes to reduce the amount of HIV and Aids. The money for the clean syringes would be funded by tax payer dollars, do you agree or disagree. Remember the whole point of this is to reduce HIV and Aids via dirty syringes. RE: Scenario Discussion. - Cressi - 11-14-2014 I think a better solution would be to put the money into rehab and prevention work. Although, yes, it's a great idea, I thinks it's too thin of a line between the rights and wrongs in this, so it'd probably be better not to; having in mind the structure of any society ^^ RE: Scenario Discussion. - OversouL - 11-14-2014 Do you mean illegal drugs? If it is then why not prevent the usage of drugs or get them to rehab. If we're just talking about agreeing or not then I agree, Not to encourage or support them though, but just to lessen the problems. You would be surprise what people get addicted to. Rehab is very expensive. Remember this is funded by tax payer dollars. RE: Scenario Discussion. - Oni - 11-14-2014 Disagree. Syringes are for people that are doing lethal drugs. True, but what if we help five people, instead of not having 50 become sick? Wouldn't that be worth it? (11-14-2014, 04:40 PM)Oni Wrote: Disagree. Syringes are for people that are doing lethal drugs. This is a fair point, "you will die soon, so why save you?", but I still don't see how dying people are not worth saving. True, but is it really a good spirit of a developed country to let people die off, instead of at least trying to help them? To be fair the people using the drugs have the decision to buy a clean syringe. Heavy drugs that use syringes aren't cheap and its your decision to use the heavy drug with a dirty syringe. Well, I have nothing to counter that with, and it is true that people should be able to afford those. Still, the big problem with drugs isn't the syringes, is it? |
