RE: "Should I or Shouldn't I?" Thread - BreShiE - 08-21-2014

This following thread regards details which were not disclosed in this thread: https://sinister.li/Thread-Should-I-or-Shouldn-t-I

Okay, so I've been thinking for about the past year that I'm 20 years old now, and I want to move out from home (I still live with my mother). A friend and I were just discussing random shit and came on to the subject of how much of a shithole this town we live in is. We both mentioned how we want to get out, so I posed the question; Shall we get a flat together?

So the "big life decision" I was talking about is moving out from home, 70 miles away to a city with a very very good friend of mine.

Option 1: Go (4 votes)
Option 2: Go (9 votes)
Option 3: Stay (9 votes)

Total Votes
Go: 13
Stay: 9

As a result of the poll (and obviously a lot of planning and thinking it out in my own head), I am going to go ahead with it. It's going to require a lot of start up money, so I'm saving 50% of my wages in a money tin. I'm no longer going out clubbing until I move, so that should save me a LOT of money.

I wasn't quite ready to disclose this when I posted the thread before as it was early doors, but now I've had time, and the urge to do it still hasn't dissipated, I'm going to do it!

Now, unfortunately this means that soon I will have hardly any time for SL and will be focusing on the real life, instead of the internet for a while until I'm comfortable and sorted. As a result of this, and a long conversation with Oni, I have decided to step down as moderator of the forum, if not permanently then at least until I'm fully set up in my new place. @Oni is not demoting me quite yet, and I will still be carrying out my duties as and when I can up until my temporary departure from SL.

I'll let you know more as it develops Smile

UPDATE 1: I've now officially been demoted on SL
UPDATE 2: Been offered 2 jobs. One running my own market stall (which I've been wanting to do) and the other cutting glass for £24,000 a year. Still deciding which I want to do.
UPDATE 3: I've decided to stick with what I do best, and go with my own market stall. Over the Christmas period (end of November until the week after Christmas) I will be leaving my town to go live in a different city to the one I originally planned. Let's see how this goes. Nothing is set in 100% stone yet. 02/10/14

I hope you have fun! Getting your own flat will be awesome. It's great you have a friend you can split the rent cost with.

...and quite possibly, her girlfriend too. 3 way split is a hell of a lot cheaper. Smile

You're moving in with 2 girls?

Both lesbians, unfortunately. I don't look at either of them that way though. Well, not with my friend anyway. Wink

Oh lord, I hope this is sarcasm.

Unfortunately I missed your other thread so my input probably isn't welcomed anymore, BUT... Personally being the stingy, careful money handler I am, I wouldn't move out of my parents home until I had plenty of money saved up, not only for the home but for emergencies. Also when you have your career started up and going down a road of financial stability. Because moving out to me is just spending money that I could otherwise be saving.

But I respect your decision. It's not always about the money for everyone and like you said, you want a change of scenery and to get more out of life so kudos to you. I wish you the best of luck and hope to see you around SL in no time. Smile
