Free Computer Science Harvard Courses - roger_smith - 03-31-2014
Greetings,
Hoping this is the right place to post, but if not please move (I was going to post in the freebies section but not up to post count yet).
Anyway, harvard has this cool program where they're offering their CS50 course online for free. It's a self paced self study course with a suggested schedule that you can follow, or not if you don't want to.

I thought this was neat and wanted to share it for those of you who are like me and want to learn Computer Science, but don't do well in a traditional classroom setting.
Cheers

In case anyone is curious, I worked thru the 2 one hour lectures yesterday in the "week 0" module. It's mostly intro stuff, but really interesting, especially if you're new to Computer Science or programming.
The program starts out with Scratch, which is a pointy clicky graphical programming language. They move into C and others after that.
I plan to continue thru this as time allows and encourage anyone interested to join in

That is true, I completely forgot to mention they have a plethora of other courses as well. Thanks for mentioning that!

No problem! I thought it was cool stuff and was sure anyone who is like minded would as well
. I'm sorta jealous I can't go to a harvard class now since these videos make them look like a lot of fun. In the second vid of week 0 the entire lecture hall started to rumble in excitement of seeing the lecturer bust out some Google Glass :-D. They clearly get to have nice things that I want, lol.

Coursera is better than edX... Although both somewhat the same idea. I knew about these sites months ago.
