JAPAN - Jiggly - 03-26-2014 So, has anyone ever been to Japan? Or, is anyone from Japan? I really want to go one day (hopefully with Oni). I have a University friend who is from Tokyo and they suggested I should definitely go one day. I wondered what everyone else's thoughts were... If you have been - whereabouts did you go? If not, where would you choose to go? I know this thread isn't specific to anime or manga - It is, however, related to my interest in both. I love the snippets of culture I get to see in them. It's really driven my interest in visiting one day. RE: JAPAN - Customer - 03-26-2014 The place does seem peaceful, yet there can also be a lot of drama. I would love to go there because of honestly how beautiful it is. Beautiful vs dangerous and Technology vs Traditions etc :3 RE: JAPAN - Saikou - 03-26-2014 Japan - Saik's Overview Religion in Japan - They have been very secular in recent times. They have religious freedom just like the United States does. Japan has Christmas. Japanese Currency - Each Japanese Yen is worth one US Cent. One hundredth of a US Dollar. Technology in Japan - I have no comment on this. Government of Japan - Constitutional Monarchy. You can go to Google Street View and find out what Japan looks like. RE: JAPAN - Kyou - 03-26-2014 I've been to Japan, with the military a couple years ago. Had some general duty tasks to do but we ended up getting some free time to explore the cultures of Japan and honestly, it is a great place. I loved every minute of it. The history of it alone, old architecture, paintings and stories some of the older locals shared (We had a translator with us, of course.) Very fun, I highly suggest going to anyone if you can. I was lucky and got paid to go, unlike someone who would have to pay to get there. Was a wonderful experience! RE: JAPAN - ねこまっしぐら - 04-18-2014 I have some Japanese people in Japan. I have a cousin in Japan and another cousin in the U.S. navy that was stationed in Japan. I have a cousin that is Japanese and Black. He is my second cousin. I guess my cousin liked that BBC B-). |
