Karma - Does it Exist? - Paradoxium - 01-24-2014

Many people I know, and also interact with always speak of Karma.

The idea of Karma (good and bad) is that if you do something positive, it could be helping one in need, somewhere down the lines of your life, someone else will do something good for you. The same goes for bad Karma, but completely the opposite.

I don't really believe in it, due to the fact that both a good thing or a bad thing would happen to you anyway in your life, despite what you do.

What do you think about Karma?

The simple answer is no, it does not exist.

It depends on how you define Karma. Different people have different conceptions. Whether it exists, epistemologically, can't be proven.

I believe it doesn't because good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people, just as bad things happen to bad people and good things happen to good people. I believe that karma doesn't exist unless you want it to.

I believe in karma because you pretty much get what you have give. In my culture, doing something good will serve you good in the long run.

Which culture, specifically, are you talking about?

Cool I agree.

The bible says 'it rains on the good and the bad'.

What I do think though is that our actions open the door for more positive or negative events to occur. For this reason, it is best to be as moral and upright as you can be.

I don't believe in Karma. I believe it is just something that people make up to feel better, or something that people say for the heck of it. Say someone robs you of the 50 dollars you had in your wallet, you would probably be pretty ticked off. A friend of yours might say, "it's okay, karma will get them". But will it really? No. Because it's not a living thing that acts lol. Or say you do find out that the person who robbed you just got into a car accident. Someone might say, "see, Karma's a B****". But really, they just got into an accident because someone ran a red light.

Chinese culture, which karma has played an important part in this particular culture. I have once heard you don't have to be a good person all the time, but having a good heart is what it matters. Well, different cultures have different views.
