Because of the 'craziness' that ensues on New Year's Eve, I am selective about going out on this day. I prefer to either celebrate with friends at home or go to an over-the-top event that's worth the effort?

Me and my family do not go out on new years day, me and my dad treat it like any other day of the week, nothing special. I always stay home on new years day and do what I always do, sleep, eat, watch TV and sleep.

When you think about it this day is rather pointless to celebrate.

I absolutely agree, plus most people just get drunk on that day anyway, any excuse to get drunk I guess. (I don't drink)

Watch, I'm going to chill with my dad on New Years(he's traditionally Spanish) so I can drink.

I usually end up going to a family or friends party. I am going to one (friends party) this New Years Eve and I am looking very forward to it.
