TL;DR: If you can't read the whole thread, this doesn't apply to you anyways, so you may continue to browse other threads.
So, as a few members may or may not know, I'm currently working on a website, one specifically for URL shortening.
I own a moderately short domain, 6 letters including the TLD ending, in the fashion of AAAA.AA
I was working, until a short time ago when my host decided to screw something up, on it, which is why my recent activity has dropped considerably.
I've laid out the framework, currently working on style and security.
But, onto the point of this thread.
I need people to participate in an Alpha test moderately soon here, where the objective is to find all the bugs you possibly can, and report them to me.
There are rules to participating, which I will list at the end of this thread, but anyone is welcome to apply.
By bugs, I mean anything that breaks the normal function of the site. However, I'm not looking for people to destroy my work, so if you find something, it needs to be reported to me, for me to fix, as soon as possible.
During the alpha stage, you'll be given access to the shortener itself.
This stage will be in parts, focusing on different aspects of the site.
Part one will be about the usage. Users participating in this part of the Alpha are to use the site normally, which is to say, not looking for exploits. During this section, participating users will be allowed to create shortlinks to any "Safe" website. If you have questions about whether a site would be considered "Safe", then chances are it is not. During this part, I will be monitoring the usage, as well as links.
This part is to test my site's durability, as well as its function.
Users participating in this part will be given a small survey as feedback.
Once this part has ended, your created shortlinks may be deleted to free space for further tests. If you have a legitimate concern or desire to have your shortlinks saved for future use, feel free to message me once the part has been completed. Shortlinks will be removed 24 hours after test completion as needed.
Part two will be about security. Users participating in this part of the Alpha are allowed to attempt to break into the site, break into the Administration panel, anything that will not damage the site. If you successfully break into the site, panel, or find an exploit not listed, you are to report your findings to me for a patch. Any user who damages the site will be blacklisted and never allowed to use the site again, in addition to any negatives which will occur here, on the forums. This is not a "show off what I can do to your site lol ur security sux", I am aware it is terrible, in some aspects, that is why I am organising a test to find what holes there are, and fix them before this is released into open beta.
Users participating in this part of the test will be given a form to fill, naming any bugs they find, the location, what was used to make the bug occur.
After this phase of the Alpha, all data as relevant to part two of the test will be removed.
Based on participation, and how much/well you do, you may receive benefits for being a part of the Alpha team. As a general rule, anyone who reports a bug first during part two will receive a Pro account when that feature is available, up to a lifetime membership for free depending on the severity of the bug.
Other benefits will be given to all Alpha testers after completion.
During Alpha, you are not allowed to share any data that relates to the site with anyone except the Alpha team and myself, beyond a basic description of what it is you are doing, and how well the site functions. You are allowed to share your opinions with others about the site after part one has been completed. You are not allowed to share any URLs relating to the site at any point during the Alpha phase with anyone who is not related to this project.
If you are good at what you do, provide me with excellent help, I may ask you to join me with development of the site itself, depending on your skill set.
If you believe your skills are relevant to the site, or that you would be a good addition to the development team, contact me. I'm currently interested in working with people who have experience in PHP, CSS, HTML, Photoshop, Graphic Design, Website Design, SEO (Whitehat), Advertising (Both inbound and outbound), and Website Support.
I do intend to make this a serious thing, this isn't just a small project I'll abandon in a few weeks.

I'm Cressi, and I'm not a day over 65 years old.
I am willing to help you bug test, do GFX or Ad/Website support.
Experience? I've been a beta tester for many small software companies, aswell as alpha tester for larger.
I wouldn't waste your time if I didn't have skills, would I?

Ever beta tested webbased features for a game, a webstore, webpage for a specific application, etc?
Entirety of this is webbased, and by my host's rules and security, I don't have personal access to the webserver beyond cPanel, which I've sometimes sidestepped, but that's beside the point. I'm looking more for web exploits rather than server exploits.

I'll send you a code snippet in a few days to see if you can figure out a specific issue, which I'll also include the errors I'm getting that nobody seems to be able to figure out.
If you can, I'll include that with the Phase 2 bugs found count.

I have experience doing really basic web design using html and css. I've recently been focusing on website security, and an currently learning php and javascript. My main area of expertise in in back-end setup, maintenance and support. I've worked as a support operator for about 1 year for a hosting company (name redacted), mainly focusing on systems administration and set-ups. What Part(s) are you looking to participate in: Pretty much anything. I have some knowledge in HTML, CSS and Photoshop, as well as some basic PHP. I've also ran multiple websites in the past, so I am fairly knowledgeable in Web Design.
What is your experience with Alpha/Beta testing, prior to applying: Do game betas count? I had the BF3 beta but besides that, I haven't ever really beta tested anything.
Do you believe you have the skills necessary to meet expectations for the Part(s) you are applying for: I think I can help in some areas, though part two would be difficult for me, as whilst my knowledge in working to secure a site is relatively high, I have almost no knowledge on how to exploit sites.
