Simples! change the dns servers to invalid ones.
The machine will stop responding to external requests and be unable to create outgoing sessions pretty much completly bricking the vm.
Even a reimage will fail to fix this as the resolve is not replaced during the process.
This has been tested on 2 hosting companies.

If you have root access why not just rm -rf /*?

I'd rather let them keep everything and have to go through the agony that is tech support .

when i make random tor nodes usually they remove apt, thats a real pain
