PayPal F&f - savana88 - 10-05-2026

Hey guys, I managed to get paid via PayPal Friends and Family—about 200 euros—for a perfume that I don't actually have in my possession.

Now they're expecting me to ship it, but that's not going to happen. Am I taking a risk?

Scamming is scummy, but I'll answer.

The most likely outcome is that they do nothing. That said, F&F is still totally reversible if they used a credit card when they paid you. The card issuer would step in and take the money. Paypal could still make an exception in certain cases and handle the dispute or they could limit your account before you are able to withdraw.

For those reading this that don't want to get scammed:
  • If you are paying someone, do not pay with F&F. Use Goods and Services.
  • If you have to use Paypal F&F, make sure you send the money using a Credit Card as source.
  • Keep records of the transaction and conversation, so that you can show it to your card issuer.
