Lowkey some sections could be merged because there's nothing new in them or maybe like 1-2 new posts from this month ✌️ RE: controversial opinion - Oni - 08-26-2026 (08-25-2026, 10:39 PM)Snickerdoodle Wrote:(08-18-2026, 11:32 PM)Oni Wrote: I think we've closed enough sections this week. Open to suggestions on that. Some stuff could create a bigger headache later, though. True but lowkey that headache would be a good headache because it would mean that the forum topic is growing and is so active that you need to reconsider unmerging it again. For example, if we merged all the programming sections - that's 4-5 different prefixes we'd need to add/allocate. Unmerging would take way more time than the mistake of merging them. I do agree some sections have gone more dormant, so it's something I'm considering... but very careful about. NSFW section will be here to stay. I'm not sure how many people really want that content, but we've had people admit they joined specifically to get their rocks off. Why Google didn't yield better options, I'll never know. In addition, encourage guests to register to be able to unlock threads. I was looking around the forum earlier and saw a whole thread full of guests or new accounts just writing one sentence comments saying "just commenting for 25 posts" and the OP of the post was literally posting the thread just to hit 25 posts 😆🙀 which is kinda sketchy and low quality. Then there's other shitposts that are just a link to just a YouTube video and not even a post which I feel like should be flagged as spam lol. I think you know who im referring to. Im still thinking of ways to help these guests convert into becoming members and then turning members into frequent members and not just people hitting a certain post quota just to see certain content and then disappear. I wouldn't stress it too much. We're only on our first week back after a year (or so) offline. Always open to suggestions, though. Right now I'd say it's too early to start deleting or merging any sections, but I'm aware of which sections are without posts. Oh wow, is it really one week back? With what I was saying about trying to help guests to convert to members. Im definitely taking the initiative to post more quality threads especially for threads that haven't been used in a while so that it gives a breath of life again to the forum. I dont wanna make it look like spam from posting back to back, but I feel so diligent about it yknow |
