The Best Games for Steam Deck - Skullmeat - 08-18-2026 ![]() I have owned a steam deck for a few years now, and I thought Id share with you all some of my gotos for the PC based handheld. In no particular order: FAITH: The Unholy Trinity One button, and directional movement. For such a simple game, its packed with content. Don't let its looks fool you, its creepy. Turn off your lights and hide under your covers to play. Papers, Please Old but gold, this slow burn checkpoint, spot the difference game really only needs a trackpad to play. VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action Given the slow pace of VNs, Its only natural that the steam deck would be a perfect fit for them, so id be remiss to not recommend one of greatest visual novels ever made. Grab an alcoholic beverage, curl up and mix drinks and change some lives with Jill. Overload From the team who brought you the vomit inducing 1995 classic Descent, this game will have you playing on the ceiling. 6 DOF games never left us, the king just took a break. Observer: System Redux A Neo Noir cyberpunk thriller from the same people who brought us Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Turn down the settings a bit on this one. Hypnospace Outlaw You are a moderator of Hypnospace, A alternate reality 1999 internet that people browse while they sleep. If you grew up with or experienced the early internet, you will love this game. PowerWash Simulator 2 Its cleanup time. Despite being a first person game, this game fits the deck perfectly. Grab you cleaning gear, kick back and wash everything away. Persona 5 Royal There's not much I can say about this game that people dont already know. Persona 5 Royal plays beautifully on the deck right out of the box. It also supports cloud saves so you can switch back to your PC during your play-through. Emudeck https://www.emudeck.com/ The steam decks secret weapon. It turns the deck into an emulation powerhouse. Everything from Atari up to ps3 is playable, and its all configurable, simple to setup, and integrates right into steam. If you have a steam deck and dont have emudeck, you are doing yourself a disservice. If you have a steam deck, what are your favorite games to play on it? RE: The Best Games for Steam Deck - Oni - 08-18-2026 VA-11 Hall-A is good.

Would definitely be interested to play the other ones, but as of recent Ive been mostly on my phone while all my other consoles are collecting dust ðŸ˜ðŸ¥€ RE: The Best Games for Steam Deck - mariamartin - 09-03-2026 I really appreciate your recommendations, especially FAITH: The Unholy Trinity and VA-11 Hall-A. They both offer unique experiences that fit perfectly with the handheld format. I also agree that Emudeck is an incredible tool for enhancing gaming on the Steam Deck. I'm curious to hear more about other games that others enjoy playing too! Sure you could play an FPS on the system, but its not the best experience. RE: The Best Games for Steam Deck - Oni - 09-05-2026 I could see turn-based strategy games being good for these, if the UI doesn't clog the screen. Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader comes to mind. |
