I have a broken gaming laptop, easiest SE? - shaolinwookie - 08-24-2024

I have a MSI laptop that isn't turning on. I was going to SE a new laptop but I figured I would try to brainstorm to see what I can do with this one. Its a msi sword 15 so not the newest model but is still sold in some stores

Just get the laptop and replace the internals?

Hm, a little tedious but probably the least hassle. Seems this model is discontinued, only ones I can find is from third party companies through amazon/walmart, idk if ill rub into any issues with SE

Wouldn't they check to see if the warranty sticker is broken?

Depends where is the warranty sticker, maybe you could just bypass it with a hairdryer or etc

Its right at the bottom on one of the screws, which is really dumb because what if you want to upgrade the ram, or clean it?

But you have to return as you received. There is many information how to remove the sticker or order some stickers from aliexpress then? But of course it could take a while then .

So I realized that warranty sticker i see on mine may not be from factory. It looks very low quality and also its in a very weird spot, I think previous owner had taken it to like a repair shop and thats who put on. I'll update once i get the new laptop

I’ve seen on other forums that they check internals for items returned, is that true?
