UPS DMG RTS SCAN help - raeman - 07-06-2024

Hi guys,

Trying to SE a pair of Acne Studios loafers from Mytheresa. Because the item is expensive ($600), I decided to purchase RTS DMG scan from ftid.io. The scan went through and says in the UPS system that my package was damaged and returned with the courier to the logistics department with the original waybill attached. Mytheresa is now ordering me to fill in an affidavit with the following information. They are wondering why I did not open a claim with UPS myself. Signing this is not a problem, but I am worried that they are going to send a driver to my home to speak with me or my family and I do not want that to happen since UPS already visited my home a few months ago for some DNA. How can I avoid any contact with UPS? I have to respond in less than 48 hours.

What is your relationship to the following company: sss, 1655 Fort Myer Dr, ARLINGTON VA 22209?

Please provide us with a written response to all points, along with an affidavit stating that the information you have provided is truthful, and sign and date it.

Once we receive all the information and the completed document, we will share it with the carrier to determine if an investigation is required."

There is no proper way to avoid that. Technically speaking, opening an investigation with the carrier means that the company is going to call UPS and say “clarify about this parcel that it is written to be damaged”, which leads to UPS asking the delivery guy to clarify what he saw and what the issue was, which may lead to the guy to come to your house or call at your number and ask what the f**k you’re saying. This is technically speaking, but as these people are really busy, it may be possible that some parts of this won’t happen and you may still win somehow.. which is a bit unlikely in my opinion. Moreover an affidavit it is legally binding. Wait for the answer of someone else here on the forum, but I don’t see anything good out of this

I only think that if I buy a scan like that, I don’t want an investigation, the way to go is for the agent to trust you when you contact them and refund you on the spot.

Hi man, thank you for your reply.

Firstly, the agent refunding on the spot would be very unlikely since the package has not arrived at their logistics department. Secondly, I can't really wait for another answer on here because they gave me 72 hours to sign the forms. Although the affidavit is legally binding, they will not find the package, of course. It just means it can take a long, exhausting investigation of weeks. Feels like this SE is going to cause a lot of pain in the ass, with the chance of the courier coming to my home to clarify. So I'm leaning more towards just taking this L and properly returning the shoes.

I would do the same if I was you, and at the end is not really an L since at least you get the shoes refunded. You just lost the money u spent on the scan
