I legit ordered a piece of electronics, returned it because I didn't like it, company is telling me the serial number doesn't match and they won't accept the return.......

If you actually legitimately returned the correct thing then just file a chargeback and inform the company that's what you've done. Also worth leaving a negative review or two to include in your correspondence. May help your case.

You can apply to the bank for a charterback as a last resort.
