First forum sig in ages. - Auth - 10-30-2013 Hey,
This is the first forum sig I have done in months. What you think? ![]() RE: First forum sig in ages. - Nefarious - 10-30-2013 I don't really like the black bars on the top and bottom, I assume you were going for a widescreen effect? Thanks, I dunno I just love them bars
RE: First forum sig in ages. - botín - 10-30-2013 I like the effect you're going for but it's not very well done. Your lighting is on the right lines, but I think you should copy the render three times, one the right and two to the left then make it a bit less blurred and closer to the original render. Ah ok, may I ask how you do the lighting like in your sig your using atm? What do yo use, to focus on the render? Like is it a brush or something, the lighting behind it? RE: First forum sig in ages. - botín - 10-30-2013 On the render you should see where the lighting is, there will be a light patch fading to a dark patch, that's the direction of the light. I make a new layer and put a gradient of black to white corresponding to the light on the render then set it to soft light. The lighting behind it is all of my layers of smudging, photo filters and gradient maps. Thanks, tried that got this outcome. http://prntscr.com/20po6a RE: First forum sig in ages. - botín - 10-30-2013 I could make a tutorial of how I do it in a bit if you want. Yeah, please do man! RE: First forum sig in ages. - Kureo - 10-30-2013 Its rather bad I have too say. Though that only means room for improvement, which is always fun to have. Anyhow, you should work on the background, you may want to use a stock image and textures for a better background as smudged ones normally become rather boring. The smudge/Motion Blur on the render is awful and shouldn't be there at all, you can use the smudge tool at the edges of the render to make it fit better if you want or you can use filters along with overlays. The lightning and depth needs work as well, though this is harder and you should look into using rendered effects and the Dodge / Burn tools. |
