How far can I go? - impatient - 03-01-2024

For the past two years, I've been exploiting a loophole in a well-known international clothing store's return policy. Regrettably, I can't disclose the specifics of this loophole. Essentially, I can effectively "return" items without physically sending them back, and due to "shipping issues", the store automatically issues refunds without scrutiny. After some calculation, I've realized I've amassed over £4,000 through this method. I'm wondering if it's safe to continue or if the store will catch on and demand reimbursement. I'd appreciate the community's thoughts on this matter, as I want to be as careful as possible.

Maybe do it under several different aliases for every return...spread that 10k worth of stuff over like 5 accounts that cannot be tied to each other

We can't really judge the risk without knowing the store to be honest, as they all have their own unique set of policies, resources, and loss prevention techniques

Again, can't help without knowing the store and knowing at least some aspects of the method.

Oh, so it's actually ASOS? I thought you meant it was a company similar to ASOS.

I can probably guess what the method is, because I know they have an exploit when you receive a refund for a returned order. There's a big risk refunding £4k across multiple accounts. A company of ASOS's size has the resources to investigate and link the orders. They wouldn't take you to court over a £150 SE, but when you're in the multiple thousands, you're getting to the value where it's worth them pursuing you. Everyone has their own risk tolerance though.

do you ever have any legit orders in the mix? Or are they all ‘returned’?
