If you want to play Switch exclusives, get it. Otherwise, look at a Steam Deck, ROG Ally, or other portable.

The latest gen snapdragon processor in phones can emulate some switch games (including Sword and Shield). Unless you can get a good price on one/one of the first generation ones that can have homebrew put on it, hold off until they update it.

In terms of consoles they're not super expensive, I think if you have an idea of what you'd play go for it, but if you're not super crazy about Nintendo games it's not really worth it

I only recommend if you want to play exclusive games. A steam deck is better for other type of gaming

It really depends on what you like. If you want to play with friends at home, Switch is the best.
But if u prefer playing solo games, get an Alianware
