Is it fair to ever take one's life? - Soup - 10-24-2013 So basically I have to write an essay on this topic, a persuasive/argument essay based on opinion. And I was just wondering, what is your stand point on this? Don't think that I'm doing this just to get my essay done as I already have my perspective on it, but I just want to see what other people think and why they think that. I personally think that it's never fair and never justified to take someone's life whether it be from self defense, or just because they want to get vengeance for something. RE: Is it fair to ever take one's life? - Kureo - 10-24-2013 The only time I mean its fair to take someone elses life is when it is to protect someone else's life. Say you were to kill an attacker to save another person besides yourself, the reason I think like this is rather simple. When someone tries to take the life of an innocent, they lose all value in life, they lose all reason to be alive in the first place. Thus they can be compared with mere trash. RE: Is it fair to ever take one's life? - Nefarious - 10-25-2013 I think it is acceptable to take a life in self defense, protecting others or your country. However I would understand revenge killings, if you kill someone I love I'll kill you or die trying. RE: Is it fair to ever take one's life? - Nil - 10-25-2013 I think so. If someone threatens my life and I'm in danger, I'm going after their life first. If I see an innocent person being harmed, especially family, I have no regrets if I kill the attacker. If I put myself as the attacker, I would expect the person I'm after to try and kill me. I mean, I don't even see a person that's attempting to kill/harm others as even a worthy human and I'd have no problem getting rid of them out of self defense or vengeance in certain situations. I'm more curious why you don't think it's right? You mind elaborating on your position? Anyways, I think that its only "fair" to take ones life when its a LIFE or DEATH matter(e.g their charging you with a gun or somethin'). And if one kill someone out of a bad reason, one deserves to feel true despair. RE: Is it fair to ever take one's life? - Cosmic - 10-27-2013 No, never: at all. Under no circumstances is it okay. Can it be partially justified? Maybe. RE: Is it fair to ever take one's life? - Kureo - 10-27-2013 (10-27-2013, 02:22 AM)Muzzy Wrote: No, never: at all. Under no circumstances is it okay. So under no circumstance is it justified? Even if it is to save someone else? ( Meaning, you would let another person die and one person throwing away his/her life instead of saving at least one. ) RE: Is it fair to ever take one's life? - Rose - 10-27-2013 If It was self defense as in there was a mass shooting or something, yes. but no. RE: Is it fair to ever take one's life? - Nil - 10-27-2013 We're the same people who find it perfectly fine and normal to take any other life on this planet away.Yet we find it completely absurd and outrageous that one can justify the taking of a human life. It confuses me. |
