Alienware Monitor help - aelizia - 11-26-2023

Hi all, i have recently acquired a AW3423DWF monitor, the screen is broken (dropped i assume) and i was wondering the best way about getting it replaced? not sure how lenient Dell are but i was planning on just saying the screen is displaying a lot of dead pixels so they hopefully do not ask for it back (friend had success doing this with HP around 2 years back)

was wondering if anyone had any tips/past experience regarding something similar? cheers!

So you bought a broken monitor, correct? With warranty?
Dell has AR, contact them and tell them your pixel story, get return label, put it in the package and tear up the package on the side of the screen and tape it up, so it looks like delivery services dropped it and broke it during transport.

Good luck with this, we will see how it plays out

Read about their dead pixels policy. There is an exact minimum amount of pixels for each series which can be covered by warranty.

Just say that monitor is not turning on because they will ask for picture of display with dead pixels.

Congrats! Even better, if they contact you later on just tell them you threw it away since no one told you to ship it back.

Did you need SN and warranty for this?

RE: Alienware Monitor help - Kilra - 12-01-2023

From my understanding you can just claim it does not turn on (on a working monitor), then get a free replacement?

Does anyone know how often this works? Did he just get lucky to keep the monitor?

exactly my plan. yes this monitor was in warranty, and i had to transfer it (luckily i had the address on the box from the prev owner lol) they asked for photos and asked for me to transfer the warranty over for the replacement unit.

i do not think it is cost effective for these businesses to go through the effort and costs to fix a dead panel screen, very expensive job to do. a power issue could be fixed very easily, so i think under this they are most likely to ask for the return.

i also saw you tried to send me a PM, i cant reply as you have reached your quota. @tomzehh on dC and i can help you more if you still need Smile
