Trying to buy a used/renewed/refurbished model from amazon or Walmart and then replace just the headset with my broken one.
I might try a new unit if I can't find a used one that is sold and shipped by the company themselves. Won't mess with small time sellers on the platform.
My unit works fine but I messed up and left it out of the case during the day so it got sun damage on the lens. Their customer support wanted to sell me a refurbished unit that was basically the cost of a brand new one. Typical bullshit.
Has anyone done this to get free replacements?

I do this a few times a year with various items. For an easier time make sure the listing shows Sold by Amazon/Fulfilled by Amazon, and that you box it back up as close to how you received it as possible.
