Recovering Inactive Instagram Account - Troubilshow - 10-02-2023
Hello everyone,
I'm in a bit of a predicament and am hoping someone here can offer some guidance. I'm in the process of setting up a business, and I've identified a perfect Instagram handle for my brand. However, upon searching, I found that the name is already taken. The account in question seems to have been inactive since 2012 and only 2 followers.
I've tried reaching out via direct message, but no response yet. Has anyone successfully negotiated with an inactive account holder?
I've read about people contacting Instagram for such issues. Has anyone had success with this approach?
If I trademark my business name, would that give me any leverage in claiming the account? Has anyone tried this route?
Is there any way I can claim or recover this inactive account? I've heard of instances where inactive accounts were released or transferred, but I'm not sure how to go about it. The handle is crucial for my branding, and any help or suggestions on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Trademarking and setting up a website will definitely help with this. I'm pretty sure Instagram are fair with claiming handles for businesses
