Greetings, fellow Sinisterly members,
E-books and physical books have been in a debate for quite a while now. Some people believe that e-books are more convenient while others prefer the satisfaction of holding an actual book. So, I wanted to know what your stance is: which do you prefer?
Are you a "book purist" who loves the touch, smell, and feeling of a physical book or do you enjoy the convenience of e-books? Maybe you like to mix it up depending on the situation or what you're reading. Let us know where you weigh in on the debate.
Personally, I prefer e-books for their convenience - I can read anywhere, anytime, without carrying around heavy books. But I do understand the appeal of physical books, and sometimes I enjoy browsing used books stores for hidden gems.

I prefer physical books. I look at screens too much already, one less is a welcome subtraction.

I dont think anyone would argue digital books are superior experience to physical. They are not.
What about the actual consumption of books tho?
As much as I was initially reluctant to, I know the amount of books I read skyrocketed ever since I got an e-reader.
Especially if you like manga... 30+ I would never had read if I had to buy the hundreds, thousands of physical volumes.
About the eyestrain... Yes, surely that can’t be good. Surprisingly tho, it doesn’t feel as bad as regular screens.
I can fall asleep easily reading from an e-reader, which is impossible from a phone IME.

Pretty much agree with everything EdenSlate made.
Reading on a laptop, phone or iPad for anything over 30 minutes is not fun. There is still something nice about the phyisical feeling of a book, but eReader is how I roll these days. Part of that is just space related too, can't afford a big place so limited storage for books

Personally, I use both. I prefer different formats for different reasons.

for non-fiction i prefer ebooks because they are searchable. for fiction it's physical copies all the way, it's only for pleasure and looking at a screen is just not as relaxing
