EB challenges - FortuneCookie4 - 07-29-2023

Hey y'all. I am in the process of EBing 3 companies and interesting having different results.

All items under 100g, came in concealed box and EB attempted for the first time by me.

Company 1 still investigating (high priced item). Company 2 issued refund pretty quickly.
Company 3 through Aliexpress, who had the audacity to deny a refund on the ground that the empty box pictures weren't strong enough evidence that I received an empty box.

Obviously I challenged and appealed that decision saying that there's literally nothing else I can show them to prove I received an empty box (duh!)
But the burden of proof is with the seller, who needs to prove that they've cleared packed the item in the box and shipped the very same box.
The status currently pending but I'd think I have a strong chance of winning that one.

EB is such a bulletproof method that if all the conditions are met (thanks to mothered who make them known to us), it is really difficult for the seller to make a counterclaim.

Question then to you guys: Have you had a negative experience with EB (apart form getting a PR)? Maybe one that you salvaged? If so how did you escalate matter to force a refund? If you had failed, what was the final justification and why couldn't you've challenged it?

EB is a strong method but I have heard of some companies like AliExpress that refuses the claims just for the reasons you mentioned above. As you said they can’t prove it, but asking for a PR is deterrent enough to avoid/deny claims.

I have not had any negative experiences with it, but that is only thanks to Mothered’s indications on how to perform that method correctly, so I never overdid it.

Would be interesting the read the companies you succeeded with

Succeeded also through Aliexpress but a different seller. That's why it is a bit of a mystery sometimes.

What other EB 'indications' did I missed?

RE: EB challenges - FortuneCookie4 - 07-31-2023

So the seller is winning one of the EB cases from uploading 4 pictures.
Pic 1 - Packaging without the item 126g
Pic 2 - Packing with the item 147g
Pic 3 - Shipping label declared 0.12kg
Pic 4 - Actual weight registered from carrier 0.14kg

@mothered so it seems the carriers DO have the ability to detect as little as 21g here.

I am trying to use the declare weight against them but it seems they have pretty conclusive evidence?

RE: EB challenges - FortuneCookie4 - 08-01-2023

If they indeed have the ability to tell 20g difference in weigh, EB would not be viable with some carrier anymore. Thoughts?
