Faking grades to get into uni - NorthSpamz - 06-14-2023 Hi guys, A recent discussion I was having with some people revolved around the possibility of photoshopping their current grades in order to make them higher / better. In essence, faking them so that they could get into better universities. Now, I did have a very split opinion on this topic - on one side, if successful, you could be going to the university to which originally you would have not been able to get into (grades too low). On the other hand, you do risk getting caught and your application terminated, potentially blacklisted from applying in the future. I guess the only way this method could work, is by the administration team being too lazy to cross check the grades provided with the ones held on the system. I would like to know your opinion on this, is this something you are aware of anyone doing in the past, what was the outcome? RE: Faking grades to get into uni - Oni - 06-14-2023 These checks and balances exist to ensure people end up at schools where they will succeed. If you manage to falsify your transcript and get accepted... where does it end? You might be able to con your way through university, but eventually you'll end up in situations where you lack the skills/experience you've laid claim to. You might even find that you've robbed others of opportunities they legitimately earned. Not to say cutting corners hasn't worked for some people, but I'd recommend going to a community college your first two years instead. Not only is it cheaper and a great way to get prerequisites out of the way, you can reapply to the universities you wanted with the GPA you are actually capable of. For American universities, the first two years are usually filled with introductory/prerequisite classes so it's a good time to discover what you really want to do. |
