AirPods Pro 2 MEB on Amazon - Help - oorsi - 06-02-2023

Hi,

This is my first SE so please bare with me!

I ordered Apple AirPods Pro 2 from Amazon. At delivery, I had to give a OTP. After this, I contacted support saying that the item arrived, the amazon packaging appeared undamaged and that the AirPods box was sealed. However, there were no AirPods in the actual box except from the charging cable and the replacement earbuds. The account I ordered from is clean (I think) - it has 39 legit orders and only 1 refunded item (a screen protector).

I got the following response from the chat rep:
"Based on the delivery details, we believe the item was included and delivered. In particular we have considered information from our records, as follows which show the item was delivered: - The package weight and reported condition upon delivery. You may wish to contact your local police authorities to pursue this matter further."

What should I say to get them to avoid asking for the police report and continue with my claim?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think another member did the same method and he filed a pr. Filing a pr is fine and you can file this online on your local police website. You don't have to go to the station although you can if you wish to.

Tell them to provide evidence of the above.

I've requested them to show evidence but they keep saying I need a police report. Even asked them to escalate the chat but they're now just ending the chat saying they can't help further. Would police close the report quickly I'm claiming that the Apple box was empty and not that the package was stolen?

EDIT: This was part of their latest email "Based on the information from the shipment details provided by the carrier, they have stated that the package was accurately delivered with the correct weight and items to the address on file. So before we can take any action, we would require a police report filed by you.."

You can go ahead and file a PR, but given It's not a theft-related Incident, the officer may refuse to provide the report.

Not good news. Tried to file a report and this is the response I got. Is there any way I can proceed or is this just a failed attempt?

“Thank you for contacting The Metropolitan Police Service. Unfortunately, this is a civil matter and as such, not something that can be investigated by the police. You may wish to seek legal assistance from a solicitor or advice from a relevant organisation such as the Citizen’s Advice Bureau”.

Did Amazon specifically ask you to file a PR?

Can't believe people are still trying to get free Airpods from Amazon, it's literally their most stolen item, and with the same excuse every time, of course it's not gonna work (easily)

@mothered Yep

@Nabeshin True, I'm pretty sure this has failed but at least I learnt something I guess.

DNA would have been the best approach here I think, especially an account with some history.
