URGENT AMAZON HELP - fire - 05-21-2023

I ordered a beats studio plus earbuds recentluy and they came today.

I called amazon and told them the package was empty and i'd like a refund. I was told i'd have to send in a police report to get it figured out.

What should i do right now. The package says 0.4lbs, my fallback solution is that i could say a family member took it and ill return it as per usual but i;d like to SE it as usual.

whats the next step as of now?
@mothered your help would be appretiated

A police report is standard procedure. If you looked at the other threads you would've known this.

You can file it online and send amazon the stamped pdf report they will send you.

So far its looking good for you.

Yes do it as usual.

Simply go to your local police website and file the report saying the item was missing from your parcel.

If there is no option to file it online, email them.

Claiming the goods were missing from the box/package Is obviously not a theft-related Incident, hence a PR Is not warranted.

Tell Amazon to justify their request.

been there done that
I bet that their justification will be pretty much copy/paste the same PR request email over and over again. They don't feel like justyfing is needed, since they suspect there was a  criminal activity they'll just keep being stubborn about it (even if it's amazon who will be named as the probable fraudulent shop in the PR, they're ok with that).
And imho it's not a stupidity stubborness but more like procedure, anti fraud stubborness which might look absurdly (especially for legit cases).
Any discussion or escalation attempts will probably either end up with a loop of the pr request or just silenece. I wish you good luck though but I feel that PR will be necessary.

You are absolutely right. It took me 40+ days to get my Amazon UK refund of £1800. They would continously tell me to wait but in the end they gave in.

RE: URGENT AMAZON HELP - fire - 05-22-2023

I replied back asking why a PR is neccesary explaining how it could not have been theft.

we'll see response. I'll see if its possible to aquire a PR
